Spiritual Warfare

A couple of years ago, after hearing someone else's vision of signing their name in God's book of prayer warriors, I prayed and asked God to put my name in that book. As a direct response to that prayer, I experienced a demonic visitation - my dream started in a sunny garden, but when I broke through a spider web, it was suddenly dark, and I was face to face with a demon-man. At this point I woke up, but did not open my eyes, because I understood that if I opened my eyes to escape him, he would have won the challenge. His eyes were so bright, I felt my eyes hurting, and he didn't speak, but I understood his message - "are you sure you want to do that? sign your name in that book? because if you do, we'll come for you. Rather stay in that sunny garden and ignore the warfare." I stared back at him, and sang "Jesus, name above all names" in my mind. A big, heavy cross rose up between me and that demon-man. It blocked out the light from his eyes, and then he was gone, and it was dark and peaceful. Then, I opened my eyes.

Also, in response to that prayer, I was woken one night by someone playing with my hand. Thinking it was my husband, I lay there for a while, playing with his hand, and even gave his arm a squeeze. Then I remembered with a shock, that he was not home. All in about two seconds, I jumped out of bed, flung back the covers and switched on the light. Of course, there was nothing there.

This proves that the praying Christian is a threat to the enemy, and he will try to scare us off. This should encourage us in knowing that when we operate in God's authority, in prayer, we move mountains, and cause a ruckus for our enemy.

After praying that prayer, I went to church one day and felt the wonderful presence of the Holy Spirit. To my surprise, when the pastor gave us prayer time at the start of the meeting, I heard God telling me to pray against the enemy, and to pray for deliverance. I really did not understand, but I did it. Even when worship songs began, he told me to keep praying, and I did - and then three teenaged boys got up and abruptly left the building.

This proves that our prayers have physical effects.

Then there was the very recent time, when I was praying against specific demonic strongholds that the Spirit was leading me to - and I saw a demonic figure in my garden. This proved to me that when we pray, demons have to flee.

Also, during a rough time in my life, while I was praying in the dark, I opened my eyes, and there was a patch of light on the wall, next to my bed. I looked around, for a dropped torch, or an open curtain - there was nothing. The light was still there when I fell asleep, but when I woke up during the night, it was no longer there. This was a loving, gentle reminder from Jesus, that he was with me.

During this time of difficulty we are going through in the world, we should all look back on what God has done for us, how real he has been, and remember that he is the God of the impossible. Whatever happens on this earth, it is our exile, and our home is with him.
